研究テーマ:「Effects of Groundwater-Fed Tributaries on Benthic Macroinvertebrate Community Structure and Food Web Dynamics Across River Networks」
I study how groundwater-fed tributaries support biodiversity and shape food web structures within river networks. My research combines benthic macroinvertebrate community assessments with stable isotope ratio (SIR) analysis to understand both food webs and community structure dynamics across different stream types. Through this work, I aim to highlight the often-overlooked role of groundwater-fed tributaries in maintaining riverine biodiversity. Eventually, I hope my research can emphasize the importance of conserving groundwater-fed tributaries as critical components of healthy river systems.

(Effects of channelization-induced hydro-geomorphic changes on fresh water organisms」
In Hokkaido, river channelization often reduces connectivity between wetland and rivers, decreases geodiversity of
river ecosystems, and alters hydro-geomorphic conditions. These changes of geodiversity and environmental factors may negatively affect the diversity of freshwater species within river ecosystems. This study focuses on natural meandering, channelized and restored reaches in Hokkaido to identify the major channelization-induced factors influencing environmental factors’ fluctuations. And explore the impact of river morphology on freshwater organisms.
